Succeeding together – The Moseley Way

Our Vision

The Moseley Way defines how we succeed together by fostering a community rooted in respect, responsibility, and readiness.

Through the shared commitment of staff, students and parents, we ensure Moseley is a place where every member of our community feels inspired to learn, contribute, and thrive.

Our Core Principles

Ready, Respectful and Responsible:

Ready

We approach every day with a positive ambitious mindset, prepared to engage, learn, and grow. Being ready means having the tools, focus, and attitude needed to succeed.

Students: Turn up every day, on time, correctly dressed and have everything you need to succeed. You give your best effort, and face challenges with resilience.

Staff: Lead by example with engaging interactions and a commitment to every student’s success.

Parents: Equip your child for success with the tools, routines, and encouragement they need.

Respectful

Respect is at the heart of our community. We support everyone: treating each other with kindness and dignity and communicating effectively. We value the diversity and strengths of every individual.

Students: Treat your peers, all adults, and environment with understanding, kindness and gratitude. Listen to, and learn from, other people’s thoughts, beliefs and opinions.

Staff: Foster a culture of clarity, fairness, firmness, empathy, and inclusivity in your interactions.

Parents: Engage positively with staff and your child, working together for success. Stay involved in your child’s learning and reinforce that being helpful, kind, listen and speak appropriately to others is a strength.

Responsible

We show independence and take responsibility for our learning, actions, and decisions. At Moseley, we strive to make choices that reflect integrity and accountability.

Students: Take ownership of your actions, learning, and contributions in and out of school. Stay engaged and motivated and reflect on how to always be your best.

Staff: Support every student’s growth while upholding high expectations and accountability.

Parents: Work in partnership with school to support your child to do homework, meet deadlines and make well thought through decisions.

Our Values in Action

Resilience: We persevere through challenges with determination and a positive mindset. We find alternative ways to succeed at a task. We are solution driven, staying focused on our end goals.

Ambition: We aim high and work hard to achieve our goals. We believe our dreams can come true. We strive to complete things to the best standard we can, whatever we are doing.

Independence: We take control and ownership of our learning and strive to grow as confident individuals. We are confident to make decisions using the knowledge we have. We show bravery and courage to give things a go, even if we fail. We learn from failure.

Supportiveness: We care for and uplift each other, creating a safe and nurturing environment. We seek advice from those that are best placed to help us improve and grow wisely. We surround ourselves with positive influences that keep me safe, healthy, happy and prosperous. We are kind, generous, humorous and grateful.

Effective communication: We express ourselves clearly and listen actively to build understanding and collaboration. We think carefully before we speak, choosing the correct words, expressions and tone for the situation. We show manners and politeness when talking to others. We take turns and let others speak to show respect to them. We value what we learn from listening and talking to other people.

Living The Moseley Way

The Moseley Way isn’t just what we believe – it’s what we do. By being ready, respectful, and responsible in all we undertake, we create a school that inspires excellence and pride in every member of our community. Through succeeding together, we ensure that each of us – students, staff, and parents – contributes to and benefits from our collective success. By living our values every day, everywhere, we build a school that truly embodies unity, growth, and achievement.
